Day 5 & 6 - Lulin Trip
Day 5Had a tour trip to lulin resort on saturday. Took a gruelling 4hrs bus ride from WUST to lulin and reached there at about noon. We lunched at the restaurant nearby before proceeding for river rafting. Paired with daniel for the rafting session. This is also my first time experiencing river rafting and all I can say is it's awesome. Loved those part whererby you glided down the slides and places there are water current. However there are some location whereby you have to roll your paddle really hard until your arm aches. The rafting process lasted for about 3hrs. Changed back to our dry attire once we got ashore and went to visit the waterfall. The waterfall is the most famous attraction in lulin. We spent about 1 to 2 hrs busy snapping photos before going for dinner.

Didn't managed to capture any pictures during the rafthing session as electronic devices is strictly disallowed because of water contact. After the rafting, went to visit the waterfall. We decided to trek because we can get to view more scenery, instead of taking boat. Here are some photos captured along the way.

Finished trekking at about 6pm. Went back to the restaurant to have dinner. The dishes are still okay, except for some which I don't quite like. Once finished, we are assigned a room for our overnight stay there. Each room can only occupy 2 person, so its me and daniel to one room again. The hotel room is pretty nice, with a comfortable soft bed and a nice toilet basin.

Nice bed. How I wish this can replace the hard one in our hostel
Went to watch a local performance just beside our stay. It showcased some of their own culture dramas and performances, and it was quite entertaining. At the end of the show they even had a campfire to gather everyone audience together around the fire for a dance.
Day 6
Woke up at 730 in the morning. We are told to meet at 8am for breakfast. After finish eating, we went to visit the ancient lulin south army camp. It has a strong historical stories behind the place, and it made us imgine the war and brave warriors, and how fight and sufferings went through. The place is located high up in the hill, 850m above sea level. Managed to capture lots of mountains pictures as well.

Found a big spider in our hotel room in the morning, but oh well, we are checking out =)

Everything ended at about noon. Went for lunch before bidding farewell to the beautiful lulin. It has been a great time exploring these historical and nice places. Travel back to WUST, and again its another gruelling journey. The way I see people drive on the road is extremely dangerous, cutting lanes with fast speed and spamming horn all the way. But oh well, the trip is meaningful and interesting, and it never made me regret going.
Reflection:
I think it is always a good experience to learn about other people's culture and interact well with them. For example, speaking confidently with the local people can also be a good experience. We learnt plenty of things during the trip to lulin and we find it interesting, for example how the ancient chinese history came about. We also watched the local performance which we can't see in Singapore. Such experience is hard to achieve, and we must treasure it.

Hi Adrian, good account of Day 5 & 6. Would be interesting to include a short paragraph/summary on your thoughts and reflections on what you have observed/seen during this 2-day outing. Regards, Lim Choon Boo
