Day 29

Today we experienced a power supply cutoff in school today again. The previous one was in the early morning when we were leaving for tour on weekend, hence we were not much affected. However today was quite a disaster. As the power supply cutoff occured throughout the entire school, our rooms had no aircon and showers. When we reached the classroom, there were no lights and projector to use at all. Toilets had no waters to flush and wash our hands. Therefore, we just had a short quiz and ended our class pretty early today.

Evening session saw us had another interacting session with the local students again. This time round, they booked a huge karoke room for the whole school of ngee ann students. I must really say they are a good hosts. Planning and oraganising the programme isn't an easy task. We enjoyed throughout the whole session by a range activities like games, singing and performance. A big thank you to the students of WUST.

PS: As I am using my handphone to take photos, picture quality might not be clear.

huge karoke room

Lights off for games activities!

Anyway, just read about a news on a singaporean student stabbed to death in China after a brawl in pub. We must really take care of ourselves when in overseas and try refrain going to places like pub late in the night.

Reflection:
Today's electricity failure in the campus made us realised how luxurious life we had in Singapore. Very rarely will we experience power failure in our own country. Next for the interaction session, i feel that we really owe local student a big thank you. They really took up the time to plan such a occasion for us. It is really not easy for them. And finally, taking good care of ourselves in overseas is a must.

Day 28

Went for BPE lesson in the morning. Did usual routine; teach new chapter and quiz. Afternoon we went for another industrial visit with the lsct students. Unlike the past industrial visit to coca cola company, this pharmatical company is very strict. It don't allow visitors to take photo and enter the manufacturing room. We understand that inconvenience as making of medicine drugs required a handful of processes, such as disinfection etc. Therefore, we just hang around outside the company building. After like 1hr, we took a bus back to our campus. Dinner time went to try out a restaurant that we never tried before. The dishes were pretty delicious. Shall recommend that to the rest of the peeps too.

Entrance..

Enter at your own risk
Dined out at a restaurant with Eshlyn, Alvin, Daniel, Chin Kuang and Zhong Rong. We ordered 3 dishes and a soup. Don't find it filling though haha. In the end we went to KFC to buy egg tarts to sastify our stomach.

photo taking at table....

Reflections:
It's going to be another 2 more weeks before we returned back to Singapore. For the past 4 weeks, I find that not only myself, but the rest of us have truly enjoyed yourselves. The bonding among us seems to get closer and closer each day. This is important as nobody can survive on its own. We have to interact around and make new friends. Together we have learnt and shared, and hopefully for the remaining 2 weeks it will still be the same.

Day 27 - Mount Wudang Tour

Day 2 of mt. wudang tour. Woke up at 6am in the morning for breakfast. Gonna eat full as we are going to climb up the mountain for today. Gathered at the wudang trekking spot to start off. Initially it was still okay for many of us. However, once we reach the middle part of our 'journey', many of our legs start turning jellies. It was really physical demanding. But we managed to conquer it and reached the peak of the mountain. Sense of sastisfaction swept across everyone of us as we reached our destination. Took quite plenty of pictures on the summit as the scenery on top is simply too awesome. After like half and hour, we took cable car back down to the bottom of the mountain to head for lunch.

Group 1 introduce you the Mt. Wudang

Endless flights of stairs appearing in front of us. But we can do it.

Not really the top spot. It is just about 100 more steps away from the top.

Just a few more steps to go....

Here we are at the top of the mountain.

the spot we are previously at.

look at how steep the cable car travels down. Scary huh?

MDE peeps.

Went out of wudang site into the city area for lunch. After lunch, took another long bus journey back to our school. Reached our campus at around 930pm. Well, it's a pity that our weekend tour has just ended. The tour every weekend is fun!

Reflection:
China has many tourists attraction sites unlike Singapore. Hence, the number of tourists flowing in is defintely better than Singapore. Hence, what I would like to emphasized on is that, Singapore has to find other solutions to sustain its economy, and it has not failed. Countries like China earned a lot of incomes through tourism, but Singapore instead look for other alternatives such as manufacturing and services to sustain. In conclusion, we should always search for other choices if we are to survive ourselves.

Day 26 - Mount Wudang Tour

Went to Mt. Wudang for tour on weekend. The bus alone took a travelling time of 7hrs, the longest of all trips we had been to. Reached Wudang tourist area at 1pm noon, had our lunch before going for famous site visit. All the places were mainly temples with history. Because the place was once a taoist holy ground, seeing temples everywhere is no surprise. Our touring session for the day ended at about 6pm. Went to check into our hotel afterwards. Unfortunately, we had to be seperated because of the lack of rooms. Hence, some of the peeps and I were transferred to other hotel on the other side of the road. We were pretty envious that their room were much better than ours. Well, thankfully it's only one night. Meet up with them at night for strolling. The night temperature is freezing cold, with temperate of less than 15 degrees. It made me shivered even though I had my sweater on.

We're off!

Welcome to Mt.Wudang.

Day 25

Went for morning IS lesson today. Our classroom is some sort of computer lab and we learnt chinese business etiquette. Not a bad lesson though, as we learnt some of basic form of chinese manner when meeting people. It is more or less the same as english etiquette. After lesson we went out for lunch. Had western foods with peeps and returned back to school for BPE lesson at 2pm. Again, had new chapter taught and new quiz. Well, that's all for it today. Looking forward to tomorrow's trip to wudang mountains.
Everyone with a PC

saw this room at foreign language block. Made me miss home...

Day 24

Went for afternoon BPE lesson. New chapter were taught and new quiz were given as usual. Class ended at about 5pm and we went to have fishball for dinner again. This fishball meal is quite worthwhile, ordered 4 dishes plus a big pot of fishball cost us only 10RMB each(S$2). And most importantly, the dishes were quite nice too. After dinner, we went to watch the school national day celebration performance. Their style of celebration is slightly similar to us, with singing and a few dancing catergory. However we were kind of dissappointed that there wasn't any fireworks at the end haha.

WUST zhongnan campus nightscene. Look like some kind of hotel right? =P
packed with people watching performance.

Reflection:
Today's performance show reflects on how china people loved their country. They showed support and appreciation throughout the whole show. And their performance were full of chinese related cultures and dances, which fits the national day performance for them. This is also my first time witnessing other country celebrating national day and I would love to see the real celebration on the actual day. On the other hand, I hope foreigners in Singapore would enjoy our national day celebration as well.

Day 23 - Outward Bound

Outward Bound activities today! Therefore there will be no lesson for today. Meet up at the park near our hostel at 8am. The instructor divided us into our school; mde 1 group, lsct 1 group and ict 2 groups as they had more students. We did some activities similar to camps, like planning for ideas as a group and giving support to each other. Our mde group called ourselves as dragon team as we get ideas from Xanier. After a small performance, we proceed for rock climbing. I remembered my last rock climbing session was in secondary school, which made me have no faith in climbing it right now. I only managed to reach the middle height of the wall today. The session ends at 12 noon and we went to have lunch before returning back again later for afternoon session.

Sharing any ideas we have...

I owned the marker's rights for today wahaha

Gathered back for afternoon session at 2pm. For this session we will be doing free falling and high elements. For free falling, everyone of us must stand at a high platform, hands crossed and fall on the back. The people have to use their hands to support. This game is all about trusting your friends to support you. However, due to time constraint many of us didn't get the chance to play this station. Next, we went for the high elements obstacle. For this station, all we have to do is climb to a piece of wooden plank at the top. Once there, we have to leap over to the other plank. I managed to leap over succesfully without falling. Everyone of us gave encouragement and support to those who are doing it, and everyone of us completed the station with much ease.

Reflection:
Today's outward bound activities has built me up some confidence. The main purpose of all these activities is to emphasize on determination and confidence, and I find it very useful for us. For example, rock climbing tells you to keep moving and not give up easily, free falling wants you to trust your friends and the high elements plank leap focus on enhancing your confidence level. I feel that through this activites, we have achieved and attained a great sense of sastifaction, and most importantly, our confidence level has grown.
