Day 18 - Three Gorges Dam

Woke up at 630am in the morning for weekend tour. This time round we are visiting the Three Gorges Dam and taking the river cruise to Chongqing province. Bus alone took a travelling time of 5hrs. Most of us sleep throughout the journey, while some played cards. Reached Yi Chang city, part of the Hubei province, at around 12 in the noon. Went for lunch at a nearby restaurant before travelling to visit the Three Gorges Dam. The 3 Three Gorges Dam is truly applaudable, it's gigantic and huge. The building project is certainly not easy. According to the tour guide, this dam is the world largest hydroelectric dam and helps reduce flooding in the region. It has also a vessel elevator system which helps bring ships up and down by changing water level. We will get the chance to experience it when our river cruise passes through it.

Our lunch...one of the best meal we had in china

After touring the park, we went for dinner at about 7pm in the evening. After that, went over to Yi Chang ferry terminal to board the river cruise. Since the cruise has not yet arrived, we spent almost 1hr at the terminal there waiting. Passed the time there by playing cards and chit-chatting around. The cruise came at about 8+ pm and we board it. This is my first time boarding a cruise but however it was a smaller version. Many people complained of the sighting of rats and cockroaches in the rooms, but we just spent the night through without bothering much.
